To date, no complete cure for cancer exists, despite enormous sources of funding. I hereby propose that an alternative conceptual approach on how to understand cancer may help to design new strategies that may be more effective and successful in its treatment.

This is based on new evidence that points that cancerous cells, according to my theory, behave like a bacterial infection. These mechanical forces play important roles in the regulation of various biological processes such as gene expression, adhesion, migration, and apoptosis. These forces, and the cellular responses, determine the efficacy of medical interventions including pharmaceuticals, tissue implants or external treatments such as physical or laser therapies. The field of Mechanobiology addresses this reaction of cells to applied forces and has been cited in the literature for over 30 years. This device consists of a programmable oxygen regulator with a feedback system tied to a blood saturation monitor. The system allows medical personnel to easily input the desired minimum blood saturation level that is best for the patient. The blood saturation monitor feeds into the control box and the regulator delivers the correct amount of oxygen the patient needs at the most favorable time to achieve the required blood saturation level. This provides better safety than the present devices because minimal excess oxygen is released, while more efficiently providing the patient's oxygen requirements.

Overall the C-Sight visual prosthesis is based on optic nerve stimulation with a penetrating electrode array. The goal of the project is to produce a feasible and realiable, low-cost solution to those with visual impairment. The feasibility of this concept was demonstrated with the results of the animal experiments. The tests of image-processing strategies by computer simulation and DSP implementation in real time have been presented. A high-precision neural stimulator was studied. Indwelling urinary catheters are associated with urinary tract infections, discomfort, and pain--especially for males. Note: "Catheter-associated urinary tract infections are the most frequent health-care associated infections in the United States." If the catheter is not secured in a straight line, it irritates the sensitive skin at the end of the penis, causing irritation and abrasion. This tension leads to trauma, discomfort, pain, and increased risk of infection. The standard method of stabilizing the catheter is to tape or strap it to a leg, creating a stress point at the penis tip. For decades dental implants and abutments have been made of Titanium as it is the ultimate material for use in the human body. Problem was the Ti abutments would create a dark area through the tissue between the restoration and the implant in the bone. Using conventional techniques was very time consuming and required special ceramist training. I created a system that would allow an inexperienced person to be trained in one day to consistantly apply a ceramic color to a Ti abutment so the dark shadow was eliminated.

My entry is fairly simple since it just combines two existing technologies: voice recognition software has been in development for 10 years, and Google is about to launch augmented reality glasses, displaying text or any picture over the normal vision. My idea is to combine these for hearing impaired people: in a simple conversation, the text spoken by the person would just get written on the glasses, helping hearing impaired people who cannot read lips.
