Innovations in electric vehicles are undoubtedly crucial for the future of the automotive industry. This project aims to open doors towards the concept of green mobility with features that portray the advantages of battery-operated vehicles over traditional fuel-powered ones.
High-Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) Systems
Our design idea solves the problems of cheating in High-Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) carpool lanes. HOV is a traffic management strategy experiencing a large, planned expansion. HOVs are used globally to reduce traffic congestion and promote public transportation use for encouraging ride-sharing.
The NerraTrac continuously variable transmission (CVT) utilizes a traction drive in a traction fluid (high viscosity lubricant) that ‘solidifies’ momentarily between two hardened metal surfaces under high contact pressure, thus providing a traction force. It employs the same elasto-hydrodynamic lubrication principle used by all current automotive CVT transmissions.
In recent years, aluminum alloys have become the dominant material for body-in-white (BiW) and battery enclosures (“BE”) in electric vehicles (“EV”) due to their low density. Aluminum BiW and BE, or other platform parts, typically provide weight savings of ~40% compared to equivalent commercially-used steels.
Home automation is building automation for a home, called a smart home. A home automation system will monitor or control home attributes such as lighting, climate, entertainment systems, and appliances. It may also include home security such as access control and alarm systems.
The Resurrector is a portable EV solar charger that can be directly plugged into the charge port of a Tesla.
By utilizing small solar nodules via miniature antennae-like sensors, a maximum field view can be obtained during sparse sunlight and limited directional positioning.
