NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory has developed a next generation, direct-feed fuel cell that is cleaner, cheaper, and more efficient than existing fuel cells. Methanol fuel cells use an oxidation/reduction reaction to generate electrical power without polluting the air or burning non-renewable fossil fuels.
This is a proven, flight tested aircraft design but it has not reached the production and manufacture phase yet. The Aerocat is a 4 person aircraft with turbine powerplant. It is all composite cabon-fiber construction.
NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory has developed an imaging device called an active pixel sensor that is inexpensive and easy to fabricate. The active pixel sensor is designed to perform at least as well as conventional charge coupled device (CCD) imagers without all the drawbacks.
