A method of time travel and time reversal was put forward in the 2017 Create the Future Design Contest. This entry is about improvement in the efficiency of the claimed device.
Image 1 shows spring SP with bigger inner diameter but lesser spring constant.
Titanium is an indispensable material in medical technology. Until now, deep-drawn parts made of titanium could only be produced by single-stage forming - this resulted in low drawing depths and thus a very limited range of parts. Furthermore, often only low precision was possible.
This submission is a device that would reduce the chance of bleed out in trauma situations such as gun shot and stab wounds. The device consists of a probe made of moderately flexible plastic that is surrounded by a ribbed latex balloon. The balloon would be inflated by a thumb pump in the handle.
Anesthesia is a major drug that takes part in almost all kinds of major surgey. Anesthesia is administered to a patient by taking a few body parameters into account. This is usually done by an anesthetist where one manually analyzes these parameters and calculates the dosage. In this way the probability of error is usually high.
We have invented a diagnostic sensor capable of identifying the unique gait signatures of multiple pathologies, including Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, traumatic brain injuries, Alzheimer’s syndrome and related conditions. Moreover, by employing proprietary sensor data processing algorithms, the measured gait data can be evaluated in real time to provide warnings of impending falls.
Bio-Grid is the modular antimicrobial ceiling developed by request of the University of Michigan hospitals to reduce HAI's (hospital acquired infections). The modular ceiling replaces non active gypsum/drywall, fibrous panels and stainless ceilings that harbor and grow bacteria and fungus and cannot be sufficiently cleaned by hand.
BlinkEye is an alternative communication device by controlling a PC with just a blink of an eye and concerns people with reduced communication capacity. It can be applied to everyone that can make an intentional eye blinking even to people with complete paralysis of all controlled muscles, except those controlling eye movements like people with locked-in syndrome.
For many years, cardiovascular diseases have been the number one cause of death in Germany. To re-open the morbid narrowed coronary vessels for a sufficient blood circulation, an interventional treatment is possible. In this case the vessel gets expanded and is additionally supported by an endoluminal vascular implant, a so called stent.
