Improved Rotor Balance Process

This entry focuses upon the process of rotor balance. The term rotor refers to the type found in jet engines. During the engine assembly process, rotors must be balanced to a very high level of precision. Rotors are typically balanced by using a device called a balance machine. If a rotor is not properly balanced,

Improved SUV Lift Gate

Although I currently do not own an SUV, I continue to see people opening their lift-gates and having to move back so that it does not hit them in the chin when it opens or on the head when it closes.

Improved Traffic Flow/Control

My idea which has been partially implemented by some State DOTs is to use existing intersection cameras, computers, and Fuzzy Logic to improve traffic flow through intersections. Making intersections intelligent would reduce opportunities for red light infractions, save energy by reduction of idle time and improve quality of life by reducing travel time by saving time and money.

In Situ Performance Monitoring of Piezoelectric Sensors and Accelerometers

Tests and Identifies Degraded Sensors Without Having to Remove Them

An in situ measurement system for monitoring the performance of piezoelectric sensors, particularly accelerometers, was developed. With this technology, characteristics such as resonant frequency, response, cable status, connectivity, bonding and linear range, can be determined. Sensors can be tested in a very wide frequency range,

In-Situ Reproductive DNA Transfection/Sterilization and Biocide Delivery System Method for Eradication of Zebra and Quagga Mu

Invasive mussel infestations pose significant logistical and economic challenges for local communities, recreationists, and water managers. Currently, no specific remediation method has demonstrated to be both efficient and economical making it ideal for use in large-scale eradication of invasive dreissenid mussel populations once these become widely established in “open water”, e.g., lakes, rivers, and reservoir benthic zones.

Inchworm Motion Based Rover

I am presenting a design of a very unique ROVER which is based on inchworm motion. It will move like an INCHWORM using its telescopic arm and suction system. The rover will get energy from solar cells.

There are two parts to this rover, a front and a back part. Both parts will be connected to each other.

Intelligent Prop-less & Rudderless Sub & Surface Craft Drive System

Octahedrals (8 sided shapes) and tetrahedrals (4 sided shapes) when they come together can form complete solids. Magnetic manipulation of the tetrahedrals so they are pushed and pulled, creates an exciting world of one way valves, pump actions and other features to create thrust in any direction. No rotating giveaway hum of rotating propellers, shafts and (electric) motors.
