The aim of this project is to attempt to resolve problem of stair climbing for above-knee amputees by developing a new type of intelligent prosthesis. By resolving the stair climbing problem, many other problems that the amputees are facing in everyday life (e.g.: stepping over any obstacle) would be resolved at the same time.
Smart Speed limit Display (SSD.Display safety speed limit information to passing drivers. SSD has build in sensors which working on the specific preprogrammed traffic algorithms to calculate the safe speed by detecting number of cars, road driving condition, cars speed, car breaks lights and time of day. The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) has a positive effect on driving safety, fuel consumption and tire lifetime. Unfortunately, not all vehicles are equipped with this device and it is more or less impossible (or too expensive) to install any existing TPMS afterwards.
SmartWaY is a project whose main objective is the creation of accessible and affordable solutions for vehicle diagnostics using the latest technologies.
Required components:
- Bluetooth OBD2-adapter (required for data transmission from the Electronic Control Unit vehicle to a smartphone),
- Smartphone with Android (iOS or WP8 in the future),
- The software for the smartphone (development currently in progress).
The basic idea is upon landing to start the rotation of the airplane wheels before contact with the ground.
Courrently at the moment of the first contact with the ground, the wheels skid generating smoke and reducing the life of the tires because the wheel speed is above cero in relation to the ground.
The eye is designed to allow one to focus at different distances. It does this by reshaping its own internal lens and hence changing its power. The lens are attached to a muscle. To see the nearby object, contraction of the ciliary muscle will make the lens thicker and more curved, and thereby decreases it’s focal length.
