Nigeria is in dire need of an alternative and sustainable drying system. This is to reduce wastage during harvest and enhance it's target on mechanizing agriculture, especially in terms of rice production. In view of this, a modern hybrid solar dryer is designed, fabricated and tested which is presently installed at a rice processing and packing plant in Kano state. The dryer utilizes solar photovoltaics to rotate electric blowers which remove humid air from the drying chamber, and electricity from the grid or generator to create heat for homogeneous mixing with produce's steam for fast and complete removal.

Brookhaven National Laboratory’s Center for Functional Nanomaterials (CFN) has developed a method for creating surface nanotextures that effectively eliminates optical reflections from glass, silicon, and plastics. This method leverages the patterning-forming abilities of thin films of block copolymers—an important class of industrial polymers used to manufacture many products, including shoe soles, adhesive tapes, and automotive interiors. Here, the block copolymers provide a physical template for plasma etching the glass surface into an array of nanometer (nm)-scale cone-shaped textures with sharp tips.

It is also a backpack that can respond to extreme sports that other backpacks cannot. It is also distinguished for its durability under adverse conditions.

Our inspiration comes from the broken pieces of stone, where the joints form the stone itself and the broken shell of eggs. The challenge was to use this composition to make something more durable than the other backpacks.
