Introducing 21st century chopsticks. No longer having to train for traditional chopsticks, instead; this is the easy chopstick. It's eco friendly/resusable made of bamboo. Instead of two plastic stick figures, it's combined to an obtuse angled bamboo shoot. The tip of the chopstick preopened 3 inches, making your only task to pinch to pick up your food like a pair of ...

Paramedics arrive at a small, dark apartment with a non English-speaking patient. A pill bottle defines an immediate hazard: active Tuberculosis. A subway train halts between stops and a light haze fills the car. Post earthquake a secretary descends twenty floors of dust. An officer approaches a suspect in a crowded mall who releases a gaseous substance from a shopping bag. A long plane ride becomes longer when the isle seat passenger suddenly shows flu-like symptoms...

PROBLEM: One common to those in public safety, healthcare, construction, the military, travelers, shoppers and gardeners. It's the need for quick, accessible, dependable mask protection for the respiratory tract. Inhalation remains one of the fastest means of drug administration, but poses hazards for ...

Plastic shopping bags on land are one of the most common types of litter. Build ups of huge quantities of plastic bags are well known to block local drainage systems, especially in developing countries. For example, the floods in Bangladesh 20 years ago were partially attributed to blockages in drainage systems from plastic shopping bags. Plastic shopping bags also pose health risks to human populations over the years as they leach toxins into water supplies.

Plastic bags also are problematic to recycle. While the recyclable symbol of three arrows in a circle is on many plastic shopping bags in the US, it often is a marketing trick. There are no regulations about how that symbol is used, and every ...

A novel Flexible Anti-Theft Window Guard (FATWIG) is designed to provide a breakthrough window guarding approach to preventing burglars from entering your home. FATWIG can be applied to windows with any dimensions and is installed behind the glass window. A single hexagon screw driver will complete the entire job for FATWIG assembly and installation. Key innovation of the FATWIG is the unique design of the mounting adaptor which allows incorporating both vertical and horizontal steel bars for window guarding. Fastening screws are tightened to secure the steel bars from sliding. Four long securing screws will be tightened to kiss the window walls, preventing FATWIG from being taken away by force. Four fastening screws will be tightened to secure the ...

Because most kinds of oil are less dense than water, most oil floats on the water surface. It spreads out and is pushed across the water by wind and currents. Most kind of oil can block sunlight below the ocean. This results in no life under and around the area in which any kind of oil spill has taken place. One of the kind of oils that block sunlight in the ocean is an oil that comes from home and factory wastes of oil. Home wastes of oil might seem minor from one house but when you calculate it in city and country level, it is very hard to imagine if all got into the ocean. Separating of the ...

A recent study, “Reduced mixing time in stirred vessels by means of irregular impellers" (S. Başbuğ, G. Papadakis, and J. C. Vassilicos
Phys. Rev. Fluids 3, 084502 – Published 21 August 2018), shows fractal shapes can mix better with lower torque which would mean reduced power consumption for mixing machines using fractal shaped implements. One study suggests that torque can be reduced by 14% and these mixing devices are employed in a wide range of applications in the chemical, pharmaceutical and process industries. 21 Steiros et al.1 and Başbuğ et al.2 introduced fractal impeller blades created with a modification of the regular, rectangular-shaped impeller blades. The design of the novel fractal blades was inspired by the fractal plates tested ...

After years of research, I was able to scientifically explain and develop ancient Hindu art of Maya (vision by displaying images on air). It’s a method to illuminate air by thinking. Ancient Hindu sacred texts and epics are filled with narration of This kind of communication and display technologies, and I am excited to bring these concepts into modern era humans of the world using modern age technologies.

When an electric field exceeds a certain critical value Ec (critical field for ionization), the field can pull electrons out of atoms (ionize the atoms), and then the freed electrons can run into other atoms, causing those atoms to emit light. The value of Ec depends on the density of the air ...

A balloon is a flexible bag that can be inflated with a gas, such as helium, hydrogen, nitrous oxide, oxygen, air or water. Modern-day balloons are made from materials such as rubber, latex, polychloroprene, or a nylon fabric, and can come in many different colours. Balloons are usually made of latex, which is considered biodegradable. Balloons made of other materials such as Mylar can last even longer in the environment because they are made of plastic, which never fully degrades. Ballons are the most arbitrarily used in any ceremony to decor the ceremony or the event. These events may include birthdays, wedding, stage decoration, Christmas and so on. The problem is balloons are easily destroyed and is one of ...

Plastic bags can take 20 years to decompose, plastic bottles up to 450 years, and fishing line, 600 years; but in fact, no one really knows how long plastics will remain in the ocean. With exposure to UV rays, algae and the ocean environment, plastic breaks down into smaller and smaller fragments. The majority of the plastic found in the ocean are tiny pieces less than 1 cm in size, with the mass of 1/10 of a paper clip. These fragments of plastic are the one which forms microplastics. Microplastics are the final stage of plastic becoming harmful to living things. Despite all these environmental and potential human health impacts, most scientists agree that it is not feasible to ...

Cap retaining system

The Hat Trak cap (patent pending) retaining system is uniquely designed to conveniently hold ball cap style caps firmly to a specially designed plastic fixture. This fixture is an extrusion made from a flexible PVC plastic material. The visor, bill or brim of the cap can be inserted into the flexible slot of the Hat Trak to hold it fast. There are two lengthwise slots ‘tracks’ in the Hat Trak device which can retain either a curved billed cap or a flat billed cap. The Hat Trak is secured to any flat surface using a velcro style mounting system. Since this product is an 'extrusion', there is minimal costs to make this with no assembly required. ...
