Aid2GPS is a failsafe system for localization of a vehicle, even at times when GPS is unavailable. It employs an optical flow sensing based odometry system and a digital compass to track position and orientation.
WORKING (in a nutshell): Initially a GPS reading is taken to globally localize the vehicle. The backup system then kicks in. Later when the vehicle enters a GPS denied region, the previously measured GPS location coordinates and backup system data are fused together to effectively localize the vehicle. We thus have a never-be-lost system for automobiles.
The system is currently implemented on a mobile ...

Aerodynamic disks accelerate air flow through roof-mounted heat exchangers to enhance operating efficiency of air conditioning units of tall buildings. Conservative estimates based on wind tunnel tests indicate 26% increase in COP (Coefficient of Performance). Project consulting architect calculated the air conditioning requirements for a 200 ft. high 400,000 ft2 office area building. Using local industrial fabrication and installation estimates, the required 20 ft diameter disk could be sold for $30,000 installed, including overhead and administrative costs. Extremely conservative estimates of $10,000 (probably $15,000-20,000) energy cost savings annually recover the initial expense in 1.5 - 3 years. Disk use ...

The AIR furniture system represents a breakthrough in furniture design by achieving several important goals.
1-Utilize recycled PET bottle wastes contributing to a greener environment
2-Utilize 3d printing technology, allowing production anywhere without the need of centralized manufacturing facilities
3-Manufacturing furniture whose weight is less than 10% of conventional ones, rendering them manually easily movable
.4-Break the cost barrier, making them affordable to low income people since their production cost should range from 2 to 4 $ for the most complicated single furniture. If we can purchase an entire set of furniture for less than 40 dollars, we will initiate ...

As shown in the figure, the main components of the system are an IC engine, an air compressor, a pneumatic air motor, two heat exchangers and two air storage tanks. For short journeys the vehicle can work only on pneumatic power stored in the tank which can be filled from any power source at home. For long journeys it can uses both the compressed air in the tank and an IC engine.
The engine powers an air compressor whose inlet is through a heat exchanger which is cooled from the gas from the tank (as the compressed ...

Heavy Duty Vehicles have been dealing with high under hood temperatures even before the Environmental Protection Agency mandated their antipollution requirements for October, 2002 engines and the engine manufacturers chose Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) to deal with these requirements. A major consequence of the mandates was an increase of 15-30% heat addition to the vehicle cooling system due to EGR. Future antipollution mandates are increasing the heat loads to the cooling system. The industry is approaching the problem as it has in the past by increasing the size of the heat exchangers which has no effect on reducing under ...
Air train is a very advanced version of a maglev Train. As we all know, maglev elevated train is one of the fastest trains in the world.
Air Train is the flying train in air which lead to run without need ground touch. When you board at one ground elevated station, the train is running in between wires which passes high electricity. Underneath the train we impart high strength magnet. As from electromagnetic concept as magnet move towards lower wire, resulting wire coil generate a magnetic field which repel the magnet movement, while upper coil tries to ...
Orentrix Aircraft Tracking System was designed to solve the very problem of the still missing Malaysia Airline Flight MH-370.
This system transmits aircraft flight data including aircraft GPS location as SMS text messages every two seconds during normal flight status, and every second during an emergency, which ensures that up to the last two seconds aircraft GPS location is always available and immediately accessible online to authorized parties.
This Orentrix Aircraft Tracking System can be deployed “now,” as in “today.” This system has two built-in satellite telephone systems, from two very reliable satellite system providers, Inmarsat and Iridium, and ...
There is an easy, inexpensive way to locate aircraft like flight 370 in the future. Install an automotive type air bag in the tail or other parts of the plane with an automotive type crash sensor. The air bag would detach from the craft and float. The air bag would be equipped with a GPS, pinger and Satellite phone that will send out all the information you need to go right to the crash site. The air bag will keep an added black box afloat for days. This would be cheap enough to fit on ALL planes and could ...

The goal of this system is to perform a high performance portable diagnostic ultrasound system but that's not all: The main idea is to have a stackable system up to 1024 channels, and therefore this system could use CMUT technology with great benefits:
best 3D imaging
ultra fast imaging
A 256 channels prototype is running, but it's obvious, now we could divide the size by two and increasing the performance by two also.
One of the aspect of these kind of systems is the cost, a single diagnostic system will be sell around 25k€ for a systeme with same ...
